Business in the tough sense of word is like being partnered with a high profile person demonstrating high energy and skills. This alone would be alright but when your partner gets snatched away just when your business is halfway to the top it is a complete blow to you and your business.

When you’ve been through this situation, what’s the most important thing in business?

According to Terry Irwin, during her Telstra Business Woman of the Year award acceptance in Queensland, business with all its glory and success is all about priority. If you know how to prioritize your family, everything else will fall into place whether you’re giving back to community or work on things you love the most.

But how can anyone maintain their enthusiasm for their business?

Terry stated that business is similar to marriage. On the initial stages, you feel all the energy flowing through you and you will feel the passion and excitement like never before. These feelings wane over the course of years and it would take some effort to keep the flames burning.

The only way to keep things going is to reminisce what it’s like with your first love and revert back to it.

This is the same with business – you put up your business with so much enthusiasm, and in order for you to keep moving forward is to remember why you started the business in the first place.  That’s what Brad Sugars does to keep motivated.

Obviously, the most important thing in business is not the profit you will receive in the end. It is motivation, and as you move towards change, everything else will fall into their place like pieces of a puzzle. All you have to do is to keep believing yourself and maintain the positive attitude as well as cherishing the support of people around you.
